RAD LSC BSL Advice Pilot Project

Step-by-Step Guide

The aim of this page is to give you a step-by-step guide on how to access our legal advice service via webcam.

STEP 1

To begin with, you will need:

  • A desktop PC or laptop;
  • A broadband connection;
  • A webcam.

If you do not have these, please click here for a list of centres from where you can access our service.

STEP 2

If you are a new client, you will need to complete the referral form first, and we will then contact you with an appointment.

If you are an existing client, please contact your caseworker by email, SMS or fax first to make an appointment.

STEP 3

When you are contacted for an appointment, we will send you a link just before the appointment which you can click on to talk to a caseworker.

Before talking to us, please make sure you follow the webcam guidelines set out here. Also please have all your documents ready for when we talk on webcam.

STEP 4

If you are eligible for legal aid, we will make another appointment to give you free legal advice about your issue. You will have an opportunity to tell us about your issue, and we will provide you with legal advice to help you progress your case.

STEP 5

We will send you a letter (in BSL if required) confirming our advice for your future reference.

STEP 6

If you require further legal advice, we will explain to you how we can provide this.

STEP 7

When your matter has been concluded, we will send you a letter and/or video mail confirming this.
