BSL/English Interpreter for Tribunal advocacy
Thank you for your interest in being selected for a pool of BSL/English Interpreters with the confidence and skills to voice over my legal arguments delivered in BSL during Employment Tribunal proceedings.
You can see below a video clip of me delivering the sort of legal arguments I would make for a disability discrimination claim. Just click on the play button when you are ready.
You are required to either:
(1) Record your voiceover as an audio recording; and/or
(2) Translate my BSL into written English.
Bear in mind that the audio voiceover or written document should be, as far as possible, your first attempt at voicing over my legal arguments. In the real world, you would not be able to rewind me and play again as I give my legal arguments at a Tribunal hearing!
Once done, please email your audio recording or document to me at rob.wilks@royaldeaf.org.uk. The deadline for submission is 31 August 2010.
After this date, Amanda Casson-Webb, RAD’s Head of Interpreting, and I will sift through the submissions and make a decision as to which BSL/English Interpreters should be placed in the pool. You will be informed of our decision by 21 September 2010.
If you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of this search or the assessment, please email me.
I look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully working with you!
Best wishes
Rob Wilks
